Glenview Park Improvements
Beginning on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, construction will start on improvements to the trail at Glenview Park. The existing asphalt trail will be replaced with a new concrete trail between East 57th Street and the bridge near the south end of the park.
Areas of the park not impacted by construction will remain open. Visitors are urged to use caution and avoid areas of the park under construction.
The project is expected to be substantially complete in mid-May of 2024.
Street Work – 33rd Street
Beginning on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, crews will be working on saw cutting curb and gutter on East 33rd Street between Cliff Avenue and Blauvelt Avenue. Concrete removals will start on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
This work is anticipated to be complete by the end of April.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Lane Closures – Minnesota Avenue
Beginning on Monday, April 8, 2024, traffic on South Minnesota Avenue south of 85th Street will be transitioned to the east half of Minnesota Avenue to start the reconstruction of the South Veterans Parkway intersection with Minnesota Avenue. This phase of construction will consist of grading, curb and gutter, and concrete surfacing.
One northbound and southbound lane will be maintained during construction. This work is expected to be complete in about two months.

About South Veterans Parkway
South Veterans Parkway is the remaining 8.7 miles of Veterans Parkway that will connect Interstate 29 to Interstate 90. In 2020, the northern segment of Veterans Parkway opened to traffic and the South Dakota Transportation Commission agreed to complete construction of South Veterans Parkway to accommodate regional and future growth and development. Construction will begin in summer 2023 and will occur in segments, with each segment taking about two years to complete. The project is anticipated to be fully completed in 2027.
