Sioux Falls, South Dakota: Today, the City of Sioux Falls announced Michelle Treasure as the newly appointed Homelessness Services Coordinator. Treasure officially assumed her role this past Wednesday, bringing a wealth of experience in social services and a strong commitment to addressing homelessness in the community.

In her new role, Treasure will focus on streamlining the homelessness services process, enhancing data collection and analysis, and increasing collaboration between the City and external partners working in this space.

“Many individuals and families are experiencing homelessness right now locally, regionally, and across the nation. We are doing all we can to work more collaboratively with other organizations that serve the homeless in and around Sioux Falls,” Treasure said. “Once I can better access those resources and work alongside our partners, I have no doubt we will be able to have a positive impact.”

Treasure’s appointment underscores the City’s commitment to addressing homelessness in Sioux Falls. Her experience and collaborative spirit will be instrumental as the City works towards implementing solutions to strategically support those in need.

An update will be provided this summer on some initial data points and the next courses of action.
