Metro Executive Board
Mission
To assist Metro Communications by providing governance and operational assistance from city and county government agencies.
Duties
- Apply for, receive and expend grants of money on behalf of Metro Communications from any local, state, or federal government as well as from any private individuals, foundation or corporation.
- Prepare long-range plans for the efficient, cost-effective maintenance of the emergency communications system including electronic equipment.
- Set forth and/or amend Metro policies with respect to Metro Communications emergency and nonemergency services
- Governs the Metro 911 Communications system and its operations.
- Gives final authority in the appointment of the agency’s manager.

Special Qualifications
At least seven members serve on the board: Sioux Falls Police Chief, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Chief, Minnehaha County Sheriff, two city council members, and two commissioners.
