Park Operations

PT Park Maintenance

This position plays an important role in maintaining and supporting the upkeep of parks within Sioux Falls. Available positions in the areas of park maintenance, pool maintenance, athletic field maintenance, restroom maintenance, mowing, spraying, gardening, and forestry. Desired applicants must be 18 years of age and older, and able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. Positions available include seasonal 40 hours per week for up to 180 consecutive days, or up to 28 hours per week with year-round potential.

PT Midco Aquatic Center - Maintenance

This position plays an important role in maintaining and supporting the upkeep of the Midco Aquatic Center. Responsibilities of this role includes building maintenance, facility cleaning, water sampling, etc. Desired applicants must be 18 years of age and older, and able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants are eligible to work up to 28 hours per week with seasonal or year-round potential.

Employment duration: Ongoing

Pay rate: $17.51 per hour

Recreation Programming 

PT Ice Rink Leaders

We're looking for positive and motivated individuals to lead recreation programs within ice rinks. Desired applicants must be 15 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Employment duration: Immediate-May

Pay rate: $15.45-$17.51 per hour

PT Summer Recreation Leader

We're looking for positive and motivated individuals to lead various summer recreation programs. Available positions may include the playground program, adult sand volleyball or kickball leagues, or cultural arts. Desired applicants must be 15 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Employment duration: mid-May through mid-August

Pay rate: $15.45-$17.51 per hour

PT Fitness Instructor

Group fitness instructors lead safe and effective fitness classes in a group setting for Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. Instructors will lead land-based and/or water-based fitness programs. Desired applicants must hold a current nationally recognized fitness certification, be able to work a variety of hours, and have excellent organizational, communication, customer service skills.

Employment duration: Ongoing

Pay rate: $25-28 per hour

PT Adult Basketball Referee

Join our team that officiates our adult men's and/or women's basketball league. Desired applicants must 18 years of age and older, be able to officiate on weeknights, possess strong communication skills through the enforcement of league and facility rules. Previous refereeing experience is preferred, but not required. Referees must provide their own uniform and whistle.

Employment duration: late October-March

Pay rate: $40 per game

Aquatics

PT Midco Aquatic Center – Recreation

We're looking for positive and motivated individuals to provide excellent customer experiences within the Midco Aquatic Center. Available positions include front desk attendant, lifeguard, head lifeguard, water safety instructor, and pool manager. Desired applicants must be 15 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Applicants are eligible to work up to 28 hours per week.

PT Midco Aquatic Center – Front Desk Coordinator

The Midco Aquatic Center is looking for a front desk coordinator who is welcoming and self-directed. The front desk coordinator oversees duties of the lobby, front desk and helps guests have a great experience at the facility. Desired applicants must be 15 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants are eligible to work up to 28 hours per week. Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Pay rate: $15.45 per hour

PT Outdoor Aquatics

We're looking for positive and motivated individuals to provide excellent customer experiences within our outdoor aquatic facilities. Available positions include pool cashier, lifeguard, head lifeguard, water safety instructor, and pool manager. Desired applicants must be 15 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Work schedules available: seasonal 40 hours per week for up to 180 consecutive days, or up to 28 hours per week with year-round potential.
