Sara Pankonin is committed to serving others through her work as a civil engineer and now, as a City Councilor for the Southeast District. Since 2006, her engineering experience in the Sioux Falls region has included vegetated filter strips, stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, water distribution and storage, and water/wastewater treatment. While most of her career has been in the private sector, she also worked in the City of Sioux Falls Engineering Division prior to 2016.
In addition to her engineering work, Sara has classroom experience, having taught middle school math for a year. She continues to support students by helping them explore and learn more about civil engineering.
Sara has called Southeast Sioux Falls home since 2007, where she lives with her husband and their four children.
