Chief of Staff

Erica has served as Chief of Staff to Mayor Paul TenHaken since 2018. Her primary focus is providing advice and guidance to the Mayor and leading the strategic execution of the City’s initiatives within the One Sioux Falls framework.   

Prior to beginning her current role, she served as vice president of development for Lloyd Companies. During her tenure with the regional construction and property management company, she was responsible for the execution of the company’s business strategy, marketing, and public relations.  In 2017, Erica was recognized by the Prairie Business Journal as one of the region’s leading women in business. In 2018, she was the inaugural winner of the Steve Metli Vision Award from Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc.   

Previous to her work in the private sector, Erica served eight years with the City of Sioux Falls as urban planner, senior planner, and economic development manager.

A graduate of South Dakota State University, she and her husband Ivan have three children, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, and a miniature wiener dog.
