Homelessness Services Coordinator

Michelle joined the City team on March 27, 2024, taking on the newly created position of Homelessness Services Coordinator. In this first-of-its-kind role for the City, Michelle will streamline homelessness services, enhance data collection and analysis, and increase collaboration between the City and external partners. Her passion for collaboration, relationship building, and developing efficient workflows will be a tremendous asset in addressing homelessness in the community.

She previously served as the executive director of program services at Call to Freedom and as a coordinator of support services at LifeScape Intermediate Care Facility (ICF).

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Minnesota State, Mankato, and completed her practicum with the VA Sioux Falls Health Care System.

Professional passion: “My professional passions center around serving the community, building relationships, developing programs, advocating for important causes, creating change, and understanding people’s unique needs and values.”

Best part of my job: “Helping to bring together passionate and expert service providers to fill a gap in the community. I am eager to have an opportunity to develop a long-lasting model alongside other professionals to create solutions for those experiencing homelessness.”

Personal interests: “I enjoy reading novels and psychological thrillers, cooking, being active in my church, and attending various sporting events with my family on weekends.”
