Electric Vehicle Readiness Study

The City of Sioux Falls is working with a local consultant to perform an Electric Vehicle (EV) Readiness Study in Sioux Falls. The study will help us better understand projected growth for electric vehicles in Sioux Falls in coming years and identify ways to help the community prepare. The study will research projected EV demand, infrastructure needs, and other key data points while also serving as an opportunity to educate the community on electric vehicles.

The public is invited to an open house on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue. The open house will provide the public with an opportunity to learn about, ask questions, and provide input on electric vehicle usage.

An online questionnaire will also be made available to gather input from the public.

Preliminary study results will be shared with the public on the City’s website in winter 2023/2024, and a final version will be prepared and presented to the Sioux Falls City Council. Any changes by the City Council will be incorporated into the final study document.
