Street Construction Updates & Closures

Street Closure – 47th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, West 47th Street will be closed between Louise Avenue and Westport Avenue. 

The City of Sioux Fall Light, Power, and Traffic Division will be repairing utilities.

This work is anticipated to be completed the morning of Thursday, December 12, 2024.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and pedestrians may need to use alternate routes.

Lane Closure - Cliff Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the outside southbound lane of North Cliff Avenue will be closed between Chambers Street and Walnut Street to allow maintenance trucks to safely enter Cliff Avenue from the levee along the Big Sioux River. 

This closure will take place daily between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. while maintenance work is occurring. Traffic will be always maintained in the inside driving lane.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in approximately two months.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
