Street Closure – Cherokee Street

Beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, West Cherokee Street will be closed between North M Avenue and North K Avenue.

Double H Paving will be repairing the Ellis & Eastern Rail Crossing for Berry Global.

This work is anticipated to be complete in 2 weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 41st Street

Beginning on Monday, April 7, 2025, the outside westbound lane of West 41st Street will be closed between Western Avenue and Kiwanis Avenue to allow crews to complete sidewalk improvements. One lane of westbound traffic will be maintained in the inside westbound lane. Eastbound traffic will not be impacted at this time. 

This is the first of eight phases of the project, which includes sidewalk improvements on both sides of 41st Street from Western Avenue to Westport Avenue, and on Minnesota Avenue from 11th Street to 18th Street. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by August.
