Street Closure – Cliff Avenue
Beginning on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, South Cliff Avenue will be closed from just north of the northbound I-229 on and off ramps to 38th Street to allow crews to reconstruct Cliff Avenue as part of the I-229/Cliff Avenue interchange reconstruction project.
Motorists will be detoured via 33rd Street, Minnesota Avenue, and 57th Street around the closure. Cliff Avenue is expected to reopen to one lane of traffic in each direction in mid-August.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Street Closure – Fourth Avenue
Beginning on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, South Fourth Avenue will be closed between 31st Street and 32nd Street.
Midwest Excavating will be replacing underground utilities. This work is expected to be completed in one week.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Street Closure – 33rd Street
Beginning at 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening, May 28, 2025, West 33rd Street will be closed between Prairie Avenue and Summit Avenue. An official signed detour will be set up using Grange Avenue, 26th Street, and Summit Avenue. There will also be intermittent construction traffic flagging during the daytime on 33rd Street near West Avenue and near Summit Avenue Wednesday, May 28 through Friday, May 30.
Xcel Energy will be performing utility work in the area.
The Wednesday evening road closure is expected to be re-opened by 6:00 AM on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Lane Closure – 26th Street
Beginning on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the outside eastbound lane on East 26th Street will be closed between Red Oak Avenue and Highline Avenue to allow crews to perform sidewalk work. This work is part of a project to construct a shared use path to connect Rosa Parks Elementary to the east side of Veterans Parkway.
This work is expected to be completed in two weeks. The overall shared use path project will be fully completed later this summer.

Lane Closure – 41st Street
Beginning on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the outside eastbound lane closure on West 41st Street between Westport Avenue and Kiwanis Avenue will be extended east through Sheldon Lane to allow crews to continue sidewalk improvements. One lane of eastbound traffic will be maintained in the inside eastbound lane.
This is the next phase of a project to perform sidewalk improvements on both sides of West 41st Street from Western Avenue to Westport Avenue, and on South Minnesota Avenue from 11th Street to 18th Street. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by August.

Park Entrance Closure – Tomar Park
Beginning on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the west entrance and west parking lot of Tomar Park will be closed to allow crews to complete parking lot improvements. The east entrance and east parking lot will remain open.
This is the first of two phases of parking lot improvement work at Tomar Park. This phase is expected to be completed by mid-July, with the entire project anticipated to be finished by mid-August.
