Lane Closure – Cliff Avenue

Beginning on Friday, June 6, 2025, the northbound lanes of South Cliff Avenue will be closed between the Big Sioux River bridge and Tomar Road to allow crews to perform concrete joint repairs, partial depth concrete repairs, and curb & gutter repairs.

One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the newly repaired southbound lanes. In the upcoming weeks, the location of the lane closures on Cliff Avenue will vary between the Big Sioux River bridge and Tomar Road. At a minimum, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times. Access to businesses, parks, and homes will be maintained. Access to side streets will be maintained if possible.

This work is anticipated to be complete by mid-August 2025.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Alley Closure

Beginning on Monday, June 9, 2025, the north 100 feet of the alley between North Dakota Avenue and North Main Avenue just south of Walnut Street will be closed. The Light, Power and Traffic Division of Public Works will be working on utilities.

The work is expected to take approximately two weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and pedestrians may need to use alternate routes.

Roundabout Opening – 85th Street and Heritage Parkway

The new roundabout at the intersection of 85th Street and Heritage Parkway will be opened to the northbound and southbound traffic on Friday, June 6, 2025. However, 85th Street eastbound and westbound of the roundabout remains closed to traffic.

The contractor will continue with final restoration work at the roundabout, as well as the ongoing reconstruction and paving of 85th Street between Heritage Parkway and Sundowner Avenue.  This phase of the project is expected to be completed later this summer.

Drivers are urged to use caution and remain alert while adjusting to the new traffic pattern.
