Sioux Falls Hosts Week of Events for Independence Day *Correction
Published on June 10, 2025
The City of Sioux Falls announced a full week of Independence Day celebrations, running June 29 through July 5. This schedule offers many ways for families and friends to gather around Sioux Falls to enjoy events while reflecting on the freedom and liberty that define the United States.
This year’s celebration includes a variety of free events happening throughout the week hosted by Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation and partners. Expect musical performances at the Levitt at the Falls and by the Municipal Band. Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation will also host special events like a watermelon roll and a patriotic bike parade. Parks and Recreation will also provide a period of free swimming at Terrace Park and free fishing at Family Park. The week-long provide an opportunity to showcase the city's brand-new park, Jacobson Plaza while celebrating Independence Day.
Due to the low number of parade entrants, the Independence Day Celebration Parade in downtown Sioux Falls will not be held this year. This adjustment aims to encourage residents to participate in other July 4 events, like the Levitt concert or the Open Streets event.
