Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Monday, June 30, 2025, the existing closure of the outside northbound lane on South Minnesota Avenue between 14th Street and 18th Street will be extended north to 11th Street to allow crews to complete sidewalk improvements.

This is the sixth of eight phases of the project, which includes sidewalk improvements on both sides of 41st Street from Western Avenue to Westport Avenue, and on Minnesota Avenue from 11th Street to 18th Street. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by August.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Kiwanis Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the outside northbound lane of South Kiwanis Avenue will be closed for approximately 300 feet to the north of 41st Street.

Dave’s Construction will be performing utility work. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on July 1, 2025.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 12th Street

UPDATE – The road work originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, on West 12th Street from Ellis Road to Marion Road has been postponed until Monday, July 7, 2025. Road work will initially only affect eastbound traffic around Sertoma Avenue and Valley View Road, limiting traffic to one eastbound lane near the intersections to allow crews to perform repairs.

This work is part of the overall asphalt overlay project and includes accessible curb ramp improvements and concrete repairs. This phase of the work is expected to take about two weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Recreation Trail – Tuthill Park

The recreation trail repairs at Tuthill Park near the Cliff Avenue and I-229 interchange are substantially complete. Trail access between Tuthill Park and Pasley Park is expected to reopen to the public by the end of the day on Friday, June 27, 2025.

Due to wet conditions, final restoration could not be completed as scheduled. The contractor will return the week of July 7, 2025 to finish the remaining site restoration work. During that time, a sidewalk bypass will be in place to maintain trail access. A route map for this temporary bypass is provided.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout the construction period.
