Street Construction Updates & Closures

Street Closure – North Le Mesa Drive
Beginning on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, North Le Mesa Drive will be closed to through traffic between Madison Street and Songbird Street.
The City of Sioux Falls Street Division will be doing road maintenance work.
The roadway is expected to re-open to through traffic on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Street Closure – South Big Stone Avenue
Beginning on Monday, July 14, 2025, South Big Stone Avenue will be closed north of West Windmill Ridge Street. Lidel Construction will be working on utilities.
The work is expected to be complete in one week.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and pedestrians may need to use alternate routes.
Lane Closure – 12th Street
Beginning on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the outside westbound lane of West 12th Street will be closed between South Marion Road and South Ellis Road to allow crews to perform various repair work and overlay the road. One lane of westbound traffic will be maintained in the inside westbound lane. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained during construction.
The outside eastbound lane of West 12th Street also remains closed between Marion Road and Ellis Road, with one lane of eastbound traffic being maintained in the inside eastbound lane.
This project includes accessible curb ramp improvements, concrete repairs, storm drainage repairs, traffic signal improvements, concrete milling, and asphalt overlay. Work is expected to be complete in September

Lane Closure – Russell Street
Beginning after the morning commute on Monday, July 14, 2025, the outside eastbound lane on West Russell Street will be closed at North Prairie Avenue to allow crews to work on the signal pole in the southeast corner of the intersection.
This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.

Lane Closure – 57th Street
Beginning Monday, July 14, 2025, the outside westbound and eastbound lanes of 57th Street will be closed intermittently to allow crews to perform sidewalk repairs in the area between Minnesota Avenue and Cliff Avenue.
Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.
