Intersection Closure – Cliff Avenue and 26th Street

UPDATE – The intersection closure originally scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the intersection of South Cliff Avenue and East 26th Street has been revised due to adverse weather conditions.

Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the intersection of South Cliff Avenue and East 26th Street will be closed to allow crews to diamond grind the concrete pavement. Motorists should utilize South Ninth Avenue, East 24th Street, South Van Eps Avenue, and East 28th Street as alternate routes.

This overnight closure will be in place from 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, and from 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 41st Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, the outside eastbound lane on West 41st Street will be closed at the Big Sioux River to allow for asphalt paving operations along the Recreational Trail from 41st Street to 49th Street. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one day.

Street Closure – 41st Street

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, East 41st Street will be closed between Second Avenue and Poplar Place. City of Sioux Falls crews will be working on a stump removal.

The street is anticipated to be open by the end of the day.

Lane Closure – 14th Street

Beginning on Thursday, July 24, 2025, the outside westbound lane of East 14th Street will be closed between First Avenue and Second Avenue to allow crews to perform accessible curb ramp repairs. Portions of the sidewalk in this area will be closed, and pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone.

Lane closures along East 14th Street will progress west as the work moves to the intersections of Phillips Avenue, Main Avenue, and Dakota Avenue. Once the work in the westbound lanes is complete, the lane closure will shift to the outside eastbound lane.
