Street Construction Updates & Closures

Street Closure – 85th Street
Beginning around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, West 85th Street will be closed between Louise Avenue and Meredith Avenue. Traffic will be detoured onto West 69th Street.
Northern Natural Gas will be working on utilities. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Lane Closures – 12th Street
Beginning after 8:30 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, both eastbound lanes of West 12th Street will be closed between Marion Road and Ellis Road to allow crews to prepare and pave the eastbound lanes. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the westbound lanes. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained during construction; however, when paving directly in front of businesses and residences, entering and exiting may be delayed for a short period of time.
This project includes accessible curb ramp improvements, concrete repairs, storm drainage repairs, traffic signal improvements, concrete milling, and asphalt overlay. Work is expected to be complete by mid-September.

Temporary Lane Closures – 26th Street & Marion Road
Beginning on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, temporary, intermittent lane closures will be in place on West 26th Street between Devon Drive and Marion Road, as well as on South Marion Road between 26th Street and Oak Street to allow crews to perform street maintenance work.
These intermittent closures are expected to continue over the next two weeks.

Street Closure – 23rd Street
Beginning on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, East 23rd Street will be closed at Veterans Parkway to allow crews to install a sanitary sewer pipe and repair the roadway.
This work is expected to be completed in about three weeks.
Motorists should utilize South Shafer Drive off of East 26th Street to access the adjacent neighborhood.
