Lane Closure – Veterans Parkway

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, the outside southbound lane of Veterans Parkway will be closed south of 41st Street to allow the contractor to complete concrete repairs.

Weather permitting, the repairs are expected to be finished in one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 41st Street

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, the outside westbound lane of West 41st Street will be closed between Gibson Avenue and Westbrooke Lane to allow the contractor to complete sidewalk repairs.

Weather permitting, the repairs are expected to be finished in one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane and Sidewalk Closure – 26th Street

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, the eastbound lane of West 26th Street will be closed at Dorothy Avenue to allow crews to perform accessible curb ramp repairs. Eastbound traffic will be maintained in the center turn lane.

The sidewalk on the south side of West 26th Street will also be closed during this work. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured around the work zone.

After the work on the south side of 26th Street is completed, work will shift to the north side of 26th Street.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Lane Shift – 41st Street and Bahnson Avenue

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, the southbound lane of South Bahnson Avenue just north of 41st Street will be shifted into the left turn lane to allow the contractor to complete curb and gutter repairs.

Weather permitting, the repairs are anticipated to be finished in one week.

Street Closure – Fairfax Avenue

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, North Fairfax Avenue will be closed between Seventh Street and Eighth Street to allow crews to perform repairs to the sanitary sewer and storm sewer.

Weather permitting, the repairs are anticipated to be completed by the end of October 2025.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Parking Lot Closure – Westside Recreation Center

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, the parking lot on the east side of the Westside Recreation Center building will be closed to allow crews to perform parking lot repairs. The parking lot on the south side of the building will remain open during this work.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be complete in about six weeks.

Sidewalk Closure – Dorothy Avenue and Dorothy Circle

Beginning on Monday, October 13, 2025, the sidewalk at the intersection of Dorothy Avenue and Dorothy Circle will be closed to allow crews to perform accessible curb ramp repairs. Traffic will be shifted around the work zone while this work is occurring. Pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Street Closure – 33rd Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, West 33rd Street will be closed at Western Avenue to allow crews to perform sanitary sewer repairs. Drivers should utilize 26th Street or 41st Street as alternate routes. Traffic on Western Avenue will not be impacted, but no turns from Western Avenue onto 33rd Street will be allowed.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Parking Lot Closure – Prairie Green Golf Course

Beginning on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the parking lot at Prairie Green Golf Course will be closed to allow crews to complete parking lot improvements.

This work is expected to be completed by mid-November.

Lane and Sidewalk Closure – Eighth Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the westbound right turn lane on East Eighth Street will be closed at Phillips Avenue. The north side of the sidewalk along East Eighth Street over the Big Sioux River to Phillips Avenue will be closed. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the south sidewalk.

Dave’s Construction will be doing work to replace pavement. This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Street Closure – Hainje Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, North Hainje Avenue will be closed from Potsdam Avenue to 52nd Street.

Soukup Construction will be doing utility work. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Monday, October 20, 2025.
