Street Construction Updates & Closures

Lane and Sidewalk Closure – Sertoma Avenue and 26th Street
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the intersection of South Sertoma Avenue and West 26th Street, the outside northbound lane and the outside eastbound lane will be closed. The sidewalk in the southeast corner will also be closed. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the west and north sidewalks.
Xcel Energy will be excavating for utility work. This work is expected to be completed by Friday, April 3, 2026. Traffic control will be removed by the end of each day.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Street Closure – Marion Road
Beginning on Monday, April 6, 2026, North Marion Road will be closed from Memory Lane to 84th Street North to allow crews to begin improvements, which include a new water main, storm sewer, box culvert, bridge, concrete paving, and street lighting.
The closure is expected to extend through September 2027.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and to use signed detour routes.
Signal Improvements – Veterans Parkway
Beginning on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the intersection of Veterans Parkway and East 18th Street / East Split Rock Road will function as a 4-way stop with stop signs to allow the contractor to work on traffic signals.
This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
