Absentee Voting Opens Friday for June 2 Election

Absentee voting for the City of Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls School District, and the primary election begins Friday, April 17. Voters in Minnehaha County will vote at the Minnehaha County Administration Building, third floor, 415 N. Dakota Ave. Voters in Lincoln County will vote at the Lincoln County Administration Building, first floor, 104 N. Main St., Canton, South Dakota.

In-person absentee voting is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and ends at 5 p.m. Monday, June 1.

Voters may request an absentee ballot by submitting an application to their county auditor.

The voter registration deadline for the June 2 election is Monday, May 18, at 5 p.m.

Residents may register to vote at their county auditor’s office; city finance or city clerk’s office; driver’s license station; military recruitment offices; public assistance agencies that provide food stamps, like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children; and South Dakota Department of Human Services offices that assist individuals with disabilities.
