Street Construction Updates & Closures

Street Closure – Arrowhead Parkway
Beginning on Monday, April 20, 2026, Arrowhead Parkway will be closed between Veterans Parkway and Hein Avenue to allow crews to complete the reconstruction of the east side of the Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans Parkway intersection. Motorists should utilize Six Mile Road or Sycamore Avenue to either Madison Street or 41st Street as alternate routes. Veterans Parkway will remain open to traffic at all times.
This closure of Arrowhead Parkway is expected to be complete in about six weeks.

Lane Closure – Louise Avenue
Beginning on Monday, April 20, 2026, the outside northbound lane of South Louise Avenue will be closed between 49th Street & 53rd Street to allow crews to complete sidewalk improvements. One lane of northbound traffic will be maintained in the inside northbound lane. Southbound traffic will not be impacted at this time.
This is the first of two phases of the project, which includes sidewalk improvements on both sides of Louise Avenue from 49th Street to 53rd Street. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by the end of May.

Lane Closures – 14th Street & Minnesota Avenue
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, the outside northbound lane and parking area on South Minnesota Avenue will be closed between 14th Street and 13th Street. The right turn lane on West 14th Street between Dakota Avenue and Minnesota Avenue will also be closed.
High Rise Solutions will be cleaning windows. This work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Traffic control will be removed by the end of each day.

Intersection Closure – 15th Street & Lake Avenue
Beginning on Monday, April 20, 2026, the intersection of West 15th Street and South Lake Avenue will be closed to allow crews to complete utility construction.
Weather permitting, this intersection is expected to reopen in about three weeks.

Utility Work – Walnut Street & Wayland Avenue
Beginning on Monday, April 20, 2026, crews will be repairing sewer mains on East Walnut Street between Cliff Avenue and Sherman Avenue, and on North Wayland Avenue between Walnut Street and Spruce Street. There will be intermittent street closures and lane closures as the work progresses.
The repairs are anticipated to be completed within two weeks.
