Street Construction Updates & Closures

Utility Work – West 46th Street
Beginning on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, West 46th Street will be closed between South Western Avenue and South Elmwood Avenue to allow crews to work on sewer mains. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained.
Weather permitting, the work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the week.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Lane Closure – West 12th Street
Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, the eastbound and westbound outside lanes of the West 12th Street bridge near Grange Avenue will be closed to allow crews to complete bridge repairs.
Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction until late May, at which time one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction for three weeks. Work on the bridge is anticipated to be completed in late June 2026.

Lane Closures – East 18th Street & I-229
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, there will be intermittent lane closures at East 18th Street and I-229.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation drilling crew will be working in the area.
This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
