Lane Closures – 11th Street Viaduct

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the East 11th Street viaduct will be reduced to one lane of eastbound traffic between Second Avenue and Franklin Avenue.

City of Sioux Falls Light & Power crews will have the northernmost two lanes closed intermittently to inspect and perform maintenance on the light poles on the bridge.

The work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Sidewalk Closure – Career Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the sidewalk along the east side of North Career Avenue will be closed between 62nd Street North and 61st Street North to allow crews to perform site preparation work.

Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the sidewalk on the west side of North Career Avenue.

The project is anticipated to be completed by March 2027.
