Paint the Plow is an annual program and event that invites Sioux Falls students and children to paint a City snowplow. The winning designs will participate in the Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. Parade of Lights.
Paint the Plow is an annual event where young artists decorate the City snowplows with festive designs.
The program is open to elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools, and community organizations that serve youth within Sioux Falls. The students, their friends and family, and the public are welcome to view the plows and vote for their favorite at the annual Paint the Plow event held each fall.
The Street Division primes the plows, and the schools and organizations supply the paint. The participants receive the plows approximately one week after the start of school and complete their works of art one week prior to the display.
The City of Sioux Falls does not censor the content or any viewpoints on the artwork. Any messages or views expressed are not those of the City, nor endorsed by the City.
