Final plans and specifications are being reviewed and the project is scheduled to bid on May 9, 2024.

Commuter Route Information

• Veterans Parkway will be open to traffic throughout the duration of the project. 
• Closures of the northbound shoulder and northbound right turn lanes on Veterans Parkway will be allowed. 
• Any closures of through lanes will be minimized to the greatest extent possible and are limited to two weeks and no more than 1000 feet in length. 
  
  
• A full closure of the shared use path / bike trail along the east side of Veterans Parkway will be completed in two segments. 
• The two segments that will be closed are from the tunnel location north of Madison Street to Maple Street and from Maple Street to Rice Street. 
• Only one segment will be allowed to be closed at a time.
  
  
• Every effort will be made to minimize travel impacts throughout the duration of the project. 
• Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained throughout the project.

1. Install force main from 6th Street to Madison Street
2. Jack and Bore force main under Madison Street
3. Removal of shared use path asphalt pavement on east side of Veterans Parkway between Madison Street and Maple Street
4. Install force main from Madison Street to Maple Street
5. Grade and gravel shared use path between Madison Street and Maple Street
6. Asphalt pave shared use path between Madison Street and Maple Street
7. Site restoration
8. Removal of shared use path asphalt pavement on east side of Veterans Parkway between Maple Street and Rice Street
9. Install force main from Mape Street to Rice Street
10. Jack and Bore force main under Rice Street and Veterans Parkway
11. Grade and gravel shared use path between Maple Street and Rice Street
12. Asphalt pave shared use path between Maple Street and Rice Street
13. Site restoration
14. Install force main from the intersection of Rice Street and Veterans Parkway to the Sioux Falls Water Reclamation Facility
