The project is currently advertised for bidding with bids being opened on April 11, 2024.

Commuter Route Information

• 57^th Street and Veterans Parkway will be open to traffic throughout the duration of the project.  Closures of the northbound shoulder and northbound right turn lanes on Veterans Parkway will be allowed.  Any closures of through lanes will be minimized to the greatest extent possible and are limited to two weeks and no more than 1000 feet in length.  There will also be lane closures and potentially full closures of 57^th Street to the east of Six Mile Road.  No closures are planned on 57^th Street between Veterans Parkway and Six Mile Road.
• A full closure of the shared use path / bike trail along the east side of Veterans Parkway will be completed in two segments that will be limited to one mile in length each.  The two segments that will be closed are from 57^th Street to 41^st Street (including the tunnel at Harmodon Park) and from 41^st Street to 26^th Street.  Only one segment will be allowed to be closed at a time.
• Every effort will be made to minimize travel impacts throughout the duration of the project.  Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained throughout the project.

1. Install force main from Pump Station 240 to 900 feet east of Six Mile Road
2. Connect to existing force main 900 feet east of Six Mile Road
3. Connect to existing force main 100 feet north of 57th Street
4. Removal of shared use path asphalt pavement between Harmodon Park tunnel access and 41st Street
5. Install force main from 57th Street to 41st Street
6. Jack and Bore force main under 41st Street
7. Grade and gravel shared use path between tunnel access and 41st Street
8. Asphalt pave shared use path between tunnel access and 41st Street
9. Site restoration
10. Removal of shared use path asphalt pavement between 41st Street and 26th Street
11. Install force main from 41st Street to 700 feet north of 26th Street
12. Jack and Bore force main under 26th Street
13. Grade and gravel shared use path between 41st Street and 26th Street
