12th Street Connection to Lewis and Clark Water System

Phase 1 Project Update: 09/29/2025

The contractor has finished installing the water main in the north ditch of 12th Street and will be placing topsoil and seed mixture on the west end of the project along 12th Street. Lakeside Drive and Cherry Lake Avenue at 12th Street will be paved by the end of September; these intersections will be closed one at a time and should last one or two days.

Commuter Route Information

Traffic control will be split into phases for the project. The remaining phases are as follows:

During Phase C:

  • Lakeside Drive intersection will be closed for 1 – 2 weeks.
  • Traffic entering and exiting the Cherry Lake Subdivision from 12th Street (Hwy 42) will be required to use Cherry Lake Avenue.

During Phase D:

  • Cherry Lake Avenue intersection will be closed for 1 – 2 weeks.
  • Traffic entering and exiting the Cherry Lake Subdivision from 12th Street (Hwy 42) will be required to use Lakeside Drive.

Bore pit

Bore pit on the northwest corner of 12th Street and Ellis Road, where Horizontal Boring & Tunneling Co. was boring soil out from under 12th Street and removing it with the excavator to install the new water pipe.

Water main connections

Ellis Road and Windmill Ridge intersection, where the contractor connected a new 24” water valve and pipe to the existing water main under Ellis Road. The metal valves and connections are installed with white wrapping around them for soil corrosion protection, as shown in the photo.
