A construction open house will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the South Dakota Department of Transportation building, 5316 W. 60th Street North, in Conference Room C. 

The public is welcome to attend at any time during the open house; this is an informal event with no presentation. Representatives from Sayre Associates, HDR, SFC Civil Constructors, and the City will be available to answer questions from the public about the project.

Marion Road will be closed to traffic between 259th Street and Memory Lane for the entire project.

Project Summary

This project will reconstruct a portion of North Marion Road extending from 259th Street to West Memory Lane from a rural section gravel road to an urban section concrete pavement surface with an overpass at the BNSF railroad crossing. Work on the project will include storm drainage and water main utilities, along with retaining walls, a 3-span bridge, and a 4-barrel box culvert drainage structure.  These improvements are necessary to accommodate anticipated traffic increases due to development at Foundation Park.
