Shelter Reservations

Park shelter reservations will be accepted no more than 120 days prior to an event but must be made at least five business days in advance of the reservation date. Reservations are limited to a 4-hour time block.

There is a $25 non-refundable fee for reserving a picnic shelter. This fee is due at the time your reservation is made. Parks and Recreation will post a reservation card in an enclosed case at the shelter. 

If a shelter has not been reserved, it is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If others are using the shelter during your reservation time, you may ask them to leave the shelter. However, the rest of the park and all amenities (courts, fields, restrooms, recreation trail, etc.) must remain available to the public.

All shelter reservations are made online. To check availability and make a reservation, visit the reservation website below. Cash and check are accepted when you reserve in person at City Center (231 N. Dakota Ave.). For questions, call 605-367-8222.

Any changes to your reservation must be made by calling Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation at 605-367-8222 during business hours. A non-refundable $5 fee is charged each time changes are made to your original reservation.

Your event may also need other permits, such as canopy, amplified sound, vehicle or inflatable permits. Call Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation at 605-367-8222 to find out. Permits must be requested at least five business days before your event. Office or management staff must approve each permit before it is issued.
