Frank Olson Park Project
After more than 50 years serving the community, Frank Olson Park is set for a long-awaited upgrade. This $47-million project will be the biggest park investment ever on Sioux Falls’ east side. It’s an investment in our community that will provide access to year-round recreation, community wellness, and amenities designed for people of all ages and abilities.
Why Now
- Aging Infrastructure: The 50+-year-old pool has long served its useful life and is ready to be replaced. Now is the time to upgrade the facility and further enhance the experience for all users.
- Community Interest: Public engagement, surveys, and open houses showed strong interest in year-round aquatics, indoor play space, and indoor recreation opportunities.
- Neighborhood Investment: This project brings a significant community facility to a well-established residential area that has long expressed a desire for modern recreation options close to home.
The goal isn’t simply to replace a pool. It’s to build a space that promotes health, activity, and community connection year-round.
