Parks Projects & Planning

The Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Department develops master plans for new parks, major renovations to existing parks, and other high-profile projects being considered. These plans will be available in this section throughout the master planning process for review and comment, and will remain up until the project is constructed.

Westside Recreation Center

Jacobson Plaza at The Falls

Jacobson Plaza at The Falls is a major park improvement to Sioux Falls’ namesake park. Jacobson Plaza is situated at the upper falls adjacent to the Levitt Shell and Steel District Development.

Family Park Master Plan

Family Park is a hub for Sioux Falls families to enjoy nature, fish, and exercise their dogs.

Midco Aquatic Center Locker Room Expansion- Spellerberg Park

This project includes combining and renovating the existing Men’s and Women’s locker rooms to create the new Women’s locker room and constructing a new addition to the east for the new Men’s locker room.

Elmwood Golf Course Clubhouse and Cart Storage Expansion

This project will replace the existing Elmwood Golf Course clubhouse with a new, state-of-the-art 10,000 square foot facility to accommodate the heavy traffic the popular 27-hole course sees on a regular basis.
