Digital Accessibility

The City of Sioux Falls continues to work to ensure its websites and digital services are accessible to all residents. This includes people who rely on assistive technology. The City strives to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is the technical standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice revising regulations implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

If you encounter a barrier on siouxfalls.gov or another City digital service, we want to hear from you. Your feedback helps us identify and fix issues.

We are committed to making City digital services accessible to everyone.

Digital accessibility means websites, tools, and technologies are designed so people with disabilities can use them. This includes people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions, and other assistive technologies.

Report a digital accessibility barrier to the City.

If you have difficulty accessing content or a service on a City website or application, please let us know. We will acknowledge your report promptly and work to address the barrier as quickly as possible.

You can report a barrier by emailing us at accessible@siouxfalls.gov.

It is helpful, but not required, to include:

  • The web address where you found the issue.
  • A description of what you experienced.
  • The assistive technology or browser you were using.

Here is how we handle your report.

  • A member of our team will acknowledge your report and confirm we received it.
  • We will work to provide the information or service you need in a format that meets or exceeds the technical standard or will work with you to find an alternative aid or service.

Response times for fixes will vary depending on the complexity of the issue. We appreciate your patience and your help in making City digital services better for everyone.

For disability discrimination, file a formal ADA grievance.

The City’s ADA Coordinator handles complaints about disability discrimination in City programs, services, and activities.
