National Community Survey

What is the National Community Survey?

The City Council conducts The National Community Survey (The NCS) every two years to measure how residents rank the “livability” of Sioux Falls.

Measuring Changes in Our Growing Community

As Sioux Falls continues to grow, data from The NCS provides a compass for tracking the changes and improvements that matter most to our residents.

The City partners with a third party, Polco, to distribute the survey, collect responses, and analyze the survey. Each survey is made up of two phases. First, the survey is mailed to a random sampling of Sioux Falls residents. This ensures the data accurately represents our community. Next, a digital survey is opened to all residents.

2025 Survey: Phase I Now Open

In mid-September, the City began the first phase of the 2025 survey process. Letters were mailed to a random sampling of 3,000 Sioux Falls residents. The deadline to respond is October 24, 2025.
