South Dakota Secretary of State Voter Information Portal (V.I.P.) 

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

• Citizen of the United States
• Reside in South Dakota
• Be at least 18 years old on or before the next election
• Not currently serving a sentence for a felony conviction which included imprisonment, served or suspended, in an adult penitentiary system
• Not be judged mentally incompetent by a court of law

REGISTER TO VOTE

Print the Voter Registration Form, fill it out, sign it and then submit it to your County Auditor or other authorized location by the applicable deadline. South Dakota law does not allow you to submit your voter registration form electronically.  For information about making changes to your current registration click here.

• Public assistance agencies providing SNAP, TANF, or WIC
• Department of Human Services offices which provide assistance to the disabled
• Military recruitment offices
