Alysia Boysen

Director of Siouxland Libraries

Alysia has served Siouxland Libraries was appointed Director of Siouxland Libraires in May 2025.

As director she oversees the following:

• Library services at 13 locations in Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County,
• Bookmobile and outreach services.

She has been with the library since 2005, serving in the roles of librarian associate, Branch Librarian, Senior Librarian, and Director.

Alysia holds a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a bachelor’s degree in computer graphics and multimedia/web development from Dakota State University.

PROFESSIONAL PASSION: "To constantly be innovating to ensure we offer vital resources and create a welcoming place were everyone feels empowered to explore, learn, and connect."

BEST PART OF MY JOB: "I get to interact with people from all walks of life, understand their needs, and witness firsthand the positive impact the library has on their lives – from a child discovering a love for reading to an adult gaining new job skills or a senior finding social connection. It's incredibly rewarding to see the library serve as a vital resource and gathering place."

PERSONAL INTERESTS: "I enjoy anytime I can spend time in the outdoors."
