Street Closure – 41st Street

Continuing Monday, June 14, 2024, West 41st Street will be closed to traffic west of Ellis Road. A detour is signed, taking traffic north to SD-42 (W 12th Street), west to 466th Avenue then south to 267th Street (West 41st Street).

Lidel Construction is working on new utilities at the Lana Drive intersection.

Due to the weather, the opening of 41st Street has been delayed until Tuesday, June 18, 2024, depending on any additional rain.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes

Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue between 16th Street and 17th Street

Beginning on June 17, 2024, the outside southbound lane on South Minnesota Avenue between 16th Street and 17th Street will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete repairs. Two southbound lanes of traffic will be always maintained during construction. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue between Ninth Street and 10th Street

Beginning on June 17, 2024, the outside southbound lane on South Minnesota Avenue between Ninth Street and 10th street will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete repairs.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Lane Closure – Kiwanis Avenue

Beginning on June 17, 2024, the inside southbound lane on West Kiwanis Avenue between 12th Street and 13th Street will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete repairs.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Street Closure - Sertoma Avenue

Beginning on Monday, June 17, 2024, South Sertoma Avenue will be closed from 26th Street to 41st Street to allow crews to perform asphalt milling. Local traffic will be maintained during construction. In the evenings Sertoma Avenue will reopen and then close again in the morning.

After the asphalt milling is completed, Sertoma Avenue will be reopened to through traffic until paving starts later this month.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within three days.

Street Closure – Grange Avenue

Beginning on Monday morning, June 17, 2024, South Grange Avenue will be closed between 22nd Street and 33rd Street to allow the City of Sioux Falls Street Division to perform road maintenance work. The intersection of 26th Street and Grange Avenue will remain open to east and west traffic.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed by 7:00 p.m., on Monday, June 17, 2024.

Lane Closure – Highline Avenue

Beginning on Monday, June 17, 2024, the outside southbound lane of South Highline Avenue will be closed north of Red Oak Drive to allow crews to construct a bus pullout.

This work will consist of removals, grading, installation of concrete paving, curb and gutter, and a new light pole for a new bus stop location.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in late July 2024.

Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the outside northbound lane closure on South Minnesota Avenue currently in place between 33rd Street and 26th Street will be extended north to 18th Street to allow crews to complete sidewalk improvements along the east side of Minnesota Avenue. Southbound traffic will not be impacted at this time.

This is the second of four phases of the project, which includes replacing portions of the sidewalk on both sides of Minnesota Avenue from 18th Street to 33rd Street.

This project is anticipated to be completed in August 2024.

Lane Closure - East 57th Street

Beginning on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the outside westbound lane of East 57th Street will be closed between Sycamore Avenue and Florence Avenue to allow crews to work on improvements to the intersection of 57th Street and Graystone Avenue.

The sidewalk along the north side of 57th Street between Bahnson Avenue and Sycamore Avenue will also be closed with pedestrian traffic detoured to the sidewalk along the south side of 57th Street. 

Weather permitting, the work is anticipated to be completed by mid-July 2024.
