Street Construction Updates & Closures

Street Closure – Lakeside Drive

Beginning on Thursday, August 28, 2025, West Lakeside Drive will be closed at the intersection of West 12th Street (SD Highway 42) to allow crews to install water main. Motorists are encouraged to use West Dockside Drive off of South Ellis Road or South Cherry Lake Avenue off of West 12th Street (Highway 42) to access the adjacent neighborhood. Traffic on West 12th Street will not be impacted.

This work is expected to be complete in 1-2 weeks.

Motorists are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure Postponed – Minnesota Avenue

The northbound lane closure on South Minnesota Avenue between 29th Street and 28th Street has been postponed.

Work was originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. It will take place on a later date that is to be determined.
