Published on November 05, 2025

Beginning on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, South Southeastern Avenue and Sycamore Avenue will reopen to traffic with gravel surfacing from 69th Street to 85th Street. The final surfacing for these streets will be completed in the spring of 2026.

South Veterans Parkway is a joint project between the City of Sioux Falls and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT). This work is part of the second segment of construction for Veterans Parkway from Cliff Avenue to Sycamore Avenue. Construction on this section of new road began in March 2025 and will continue through 2026. The southern portion of Veterans Parkway will occur in segments, with each segment taking approximately two years to complete.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
