2026 Winter Reading Program Underway at Siouxland Libraries
Published on December 03, 2025
Siouxland Libraries has announced details for its 2026 Winter Reading Program, which runs now through February 6, 2026.
Each winter, Siouxland Libraries hosts a reading program for all ages. From December to February, participants can sign up at their local branch or online to join the challenge. Each age group—adults, teens, grades K–5, and birth to age 5—receives a unique BINGO card filled with reading and library-related activities.
For every book read or challenge completed, participants mark a square on their BINGO card. Once a BINGO row is completed, they earn a prize.
Participants from birth to age 5 and those in kindergarten through fifth grade receive a Siouxland Libraries color-changing llama cup for their first completed BINGO. Teen and adult readers can choose between a navy or green Siouxland Libraries llama mini notebook.
Each completed BINGO also enters participants into a grand prize drawing. This year’s grand prize is the same for all age groups: a Siouxland Libraries blanket. Individuals can earn up to 12 entries. There will be one grand prize winner in each age group.
“We are passionate about the Winter Reading Program because not only do we love welcoming so many people into our branches, but we also enjoy connecting people of all ages to the resources our libraries have to offer,” said Jeri Light, Librarian for Siouxland Libraries.
The Winter Reading Program encourages community members to celebrate reading by exploring materials outside their usual genres and discovering new library resources.
“Seeing how the Winter Reading Program brings people together – whether it's families reading together or adults rediscovering their favorite genres is great,” said Alysia Boysen, Director of Siouxland Libraries. “It’s a fantastic reminder that reading is for everyone and this program is here to support that journey and provide a little extra incentive to keep reading, especially during the winter months.”
