Controlled Burn Rice Street and Veterans Parkway

Weather permitting, beginning on Monday, February 9, 2026, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue will be performing controlled burns on two debris piles on City property near the intersection of Rice Street and Veterans Parkway.

The debris piles are expected to smolder for a short period of time following the burn. Fire crews will remain on site to monitor the piles until they are deemed safe.

This work is expected to be completed in approximately one day, weather permitting.

Traffic should use caution in the area as smoke could impede visibility at times.
