Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the outside southbound lane of South Minnesota Avenue will be closed between 21st Street and 22nd Street. Additionally, West 21st Street will be closed from Minnesota Avenue to Spring Avenue. Local traffic will not be able to access 21st Street from Minnesota Avenue.
The City of Sioux Falls Water Division will be repairing a water valve. This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
The lane closure originally scheduled to begin today on West 57th Street has been postponed. Beginning on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the eastbound lanes of West 57th Street will be closed from Ellis Road to Marion Road to allow crews to begin crack sealing. Once repairs are completed in the eastbound lanes, the lane closures will be shifted to the westbound lanes of West 57th Street.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Access to businesses, homes and side streets will be maintained.
Work is anticipated to be completed in two weeks.
