Street Construction Updates & Closures

Lane Closures – Kiwanis Avenue

The work originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, has been postponed. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, South Kiwanis Avenue will be restricted to the outside lanes between Austin Drive and Oak Street. One lane will be available for each direction of travel.

The City of Sioux Falls Public Works crew will be working to repair a water valve.

Traffic control will be removed as soon as possible.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure – 60th Street North 

Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, 60th Street North will be closed between Cliff Avenue and Interstate 229 to allow crews to mill and overlay the street. Traffic will be detoured to Benson Road via Bahnson Avenue and Cliff Avenue. Local traffic will be maintained for the businesses along 60th Street North.

The work is anticipated to be complete by the end of July.
