Lane Closure – South Kiwanis Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 AM on Monday, July 6, 2026, the northbound outside lane of South Kiwanis Avenue will have intermittent closures between West 33rd Street and West Ninth Street.  

Xcel Energy will be doing repairs on utility poles.

This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on July 13, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Road Closure – East Red Oak Drive

Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, East Red Oak Drive will be closed from East 26th Street to East Cattail Drive to allow crews to perform various concrete repairs.

Motorists should utilize South Highline Avenue to enter and exit the neighborhood.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Sidewalk Closure – Main Avenue

Starting Tuesday July 7, 2026, the sidewalk along the east side of North Main Avenue will be closed from Russel Street south to Brookings Street to allow the contractor to work on utilities. 

Pedestrian traffic will be directed to the west side of Main Avenue in this area.

Work between Russel Street and Brookings Street is anticipated to be complete within three weeks.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution in this area and consider alternate routes.

Revised Lyon Park - Play Equipment Closure

Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, the playground equipment area at Lyon Park will continue to be closed to allow the contractor to complete repairs and install new play structures. 

The shelter will remain open during this time.

Weather permitting, the closure for this work is extended until late summer.

Park users are urged to use caution while near the construction area.

Prairie Trail Park - Play Equipment Closure

Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, the playground equipment area at Prairie Trail Park will be closed to allow the contractor to complete repairs and install new play structures. 

The Basketball Court will remain open during this time but the sidewalk that leads to the court will be closed.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed by early fall.

Park users are urged to use caution while near the construction area.

Street Closure – East 33rd Street

Beginning Tuesday, July 7, 2026, East 33rd Street will be closed on the west side of Veterans Parkway beginning at 7:00 pm to allow crews to complete concrete pavement repairs.

Weather permitting, this closure is anticipated to be in place for 3 days.

Crews will also be working in the Veterans Parkway and 26th Street intersection and Veterans Parkway and 41st Street intersection during the overnight hours (7:00 pm – 3:00 am) of Tuesday, July 7, Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9, weather permitting.  These intersections will remain open but may have turning movements restricted.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure – 60th Street North 

Beginning on Monday, July 6th, 60th Street North will be closed between Cliff Avenue and Interstate 229 to allow crews to mill and overlay the street. Traffic will be detoured to Benson Road via Bahnson Avenue and Cliff Avenue. Local traffic will be maintained for the businesses along 60th Street North.

The work is anticipated to be complete by the end of July.

Extended Lane and Sidewalk Closure – South Cliff Avenue

The South Cliff Avenue southbound outside lane closure between East 77th Street and Veterans Parkway will be extended to July 10, 2026. The west sidewalk is closed, and pedestrian traffic is detoured to the east sidewalk.  

Runge Enterprises is installing new utilities.

Street Closure – South Euclid Avenue

Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, South Euclid Avenue will be closed at the north side of the West 15th Street intersection to allow crews to install a valley gutter across Euclid Avenue. Traffic will be reduced to one lane on West 15th Street eastbound through the South Euclid Avenue intersection, utilizing stop signs to control traffic.

Motorists should utilize W 14th Street to enter and exit the neighborhood.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Veterans Parkway

Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, the inside northbound lane of Veterans Parkway between Paddington Street and Maple Street will be closed to allow the contractor to complete concrete repairs.

Weather permitting, the repairs are expected to be finished in one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
