The public is invited to attend a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected city officials on Friday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall, 235 W. 10th St.
During the ceremony, Mayor-elect Christine Erickson will take the oath of office and begin her first term as mayor. Council members-elect Rich Merkouris, James Oppenheimer, Sara Pankonin and Zak Okuwe also will take the oath and begin their terms on the Sioux Falls City Council.
Merkouris and Oppenheimer will serve as at-large council members. Pankonin will represent the Southeast District, and Okuwe will represent the Central District.
Erickson, Pankonin and Okuwe were elected in the runoff election held last month.
Residents who are unable to attend can watch the ceremony live at siouxfalls.gov/live.
A reception will follow the ceremony in Carnegie Town Hall.
