Street Closure – 476th Avenue near 72nd Street North

Beginning on Monday, July 27, 2026, 476th Avenue (Minnehaha County Highway 125) will be closed from Slip Up Creek Road to I-90 to allow crews to reconstruct the roadway. Traffic will be detoured via 258th Street, SD Hwy 115 (Cliff Avenue), and Interstate 90.

Construction includes removal of the existing roadway at the intersection of 72nd Street North to install sanitary sewer, water main, and storm drainage infrastructure across 476th Avenue. 476th Avenue will be repaved and is expected to be reopened to traffic in early September.

Motorists are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

 

Lane Closure – South Western Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the outside northbound lane of South Western Avenue will be closed at West 51st Street to allow crews to perform repairs on the concrete curb ramps.

One lane of northbound traffic on Western Avenue will be maintained in the inside lane. Motorists should expect delays.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in one week.
