Lane Closures – West 41st Street and South Louise Avenue

Beginning on Thursday, August 6, 2026, there will be intermittent lane closures in various locations near the intersection of West 41st Street and South Louise Avenue. Closures on West 41st Street will be between South Louise Avenue and West Empire Place. Closures on South Louise Avenue will be between West 41st Street and West 43rd Street.

Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE) will be locating and documenting underground utilities.

This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day on August 6, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure - Western Avenue

Beginning on Thursday, August 6th, the outside southbound lane of Western Avenue will be intermittently closed between Holly Avenue and Madison Street to allow crews to complete storm drainage and concrete surface repairs. Traffic will be maintained in the inside southbound lane at all times.

The work is expected to be completed in approximately 1-2 weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution, reduce their speed when traveling near the work zone, and consider alternate routes to help minimize delays.

Postponed Street Closure – South Grange Avenue

The closure on South Grange Avenue between West 18th Street and West 22nd Street originally scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2026, has been postponed.

The City of Sioux Falls Public Works crew will be doing water main work.

Information about the closure will be released on a later date.
