Street Closure – West 17th Street

Beginning at 7:30 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026, West 17th Street will be closed between South Euclid Avenue and South Covell Avenue. The south sidewalk will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to the north sidewalk. 

Henry Carlson Company will be doing crane work. 

This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Construction Open House

The City of Sioux Falls will host a public open house on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Harrisburg North Middle School, 2201 West 95th Street, to provide information on the Southeast Basins Sanitary Sewer Expansion project along Lincoln County Highway 106, also known as 271st Street.

Construction is anticipated to begin in late August or early September and continue through 2027. Information about the project and detour routes will be shared at the open house. Members of the project team will be available for one-on-one conversations and to answer questions. No formal presentation will be made.
