Lane and Sidewalk Closure – South Western Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026, the northbound outside lane of South Western Avenue will be closed between the south entrance of Scheels and West 42nd Street. The east sidewalk along South Western Avenue will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to the west sidewalk.  

MidAmerican Energy will be replacing a gas service line.

This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day on August 14^, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street and Sidewalk Closure – West 51st Street

Beginning at 8:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2026, West 51st Street will be closed between South West Avenue and South Western Avenue. The south sidewalk will be closed.

Runge Enterprises will be installing new utilities. 

This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day on August 19, 2026.
