Benson Road Improvements Open House
The City of Sioux Falls and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) are planning improvements to the West Benson Road corridor between I-29 and Westport Avenue beginning in 2027. There will be an open house for the project on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in room 2510 of the Sanford Pentagon (2210 W. Pentagon Place).

The City’s improvements will include two through lanes in each direction, dedicated turn lanes at intersections, a raised median, sidewalks on both sides of the street, storm drainage infrastructure, and new traffic signals at Westport Avenue and Martindale Road. Private utility companies will also be completing work in conjunction with this project.
