Electronics Recycling

Image of old electronics

Electronics recycling is important for our environment, our health, and our economy. Many electronic devices contain heavy metals and toxic chemicals. If thrown away improperly, these can harm us, wildlife, and the land.

Electronics also have valuable metals like copper and cobalt, which can be reused to make new products.

  • Residents can recycle their electronics for free at the Sioux Falls Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Disposal of electronics is not allowed at the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill.
  • This service is only for people who live in one of these five counties: Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner.
  • The facility does not accept electronics from businesses, farms, churches, or other organizations.
  • Drop-off Limits: Residents are limited to dropping off no more than 5 CPUs, 5 monitors, 5 televisions, and 2 microwave ovens per calendar year.
